I attended the IIR Marketing Creativity Camp in San Diego this week as a keynote speaker and once again was blown away by how much energy and ideas come from the other side of the podium. Not to jibe myself or other fellow speakers (including Andy Stefanovich) who attended, but there are a lot of smart, smart people attending conferences these days. And that’s why we’re there. For the sparks, the bubble of elation when hearing a new idea for the first time, the jolt of discovery. We all get a chance to swim in the idea mix. It reminds me of how a guy once described New York City–every day he met someone who was smarter than he was. And he became smarter because of it. I had to leave camp early, and the minute I landed back home I missed San Diego. I wanted to swim some more.
